Leafs Prepare For Avalanche With Hopes Of Ending Losing Streak
The Maple Leafs were hard at work yesterday after a devastating 4 -2 loss against the Islanders pushing their losing streak to six games since then many changes have occurred that may be able to set the team in the right direction. Following yesterdays game the players were held back for an unscheduled practice where they focused on high intensity scoring plays to hopefully end their bad stretch. This morning however they were woken up to a new team for their regular pregame morning practice this included the trading of Jake Debrusk to the Oilers for young prospect Kristian Tanus who has had a great start to the season with 20 points playing on the 4th line and defenseman Caleb Jones along with that trade a new management team was brought in overnight consisting of head coach Ben Shapiro along with Assistant coaches Jordan Peterson and Steven Crowder to put an end to the current struggles.
Since the trading of former starting goalie Frederik Andersen to division rival Montreal Canadians the Maple Leafs went from being second in the division with a respectable 12-6-3 record to dropping to last in the division with a 13-15-3 record they have really been struggling with goaltending over the past two weeks with Sparks not being able to prove he can be a starter leading to him being put on waivers and young Michael DiPietro struggling with the spotlight, it has been said Ian Scott will be getting his first start in the NHL this week where he may be able to help push the team to a winning record we can only hope his performance in the AHL shows with the Maple Leafs.
