Kind of a two-in-one suggestion:
Prospects who are not signed and are age 22 at the start of UFA are automatically released and anyone can offer on them. Some teams don't sign those prospects and they may be something (or nothing) but teams can offer and find out.
Not sure what the RFA rules are, but a guy should only be allowed to sit for one calendar season. If he's a RFA because you qualified but didn't sign, then you either need to trade his rights or he becomes UFA by end of that calendar season.
